So after having a Gamefly account for several months I got fed up. Turnaround times are slow and they never have what I want when I want it. So I researched their competitors and signed up for a Gamerang account. I’m going to make my game queues on both services identical and return the discs at exactly the same time. I’ll post my results here and keep it updated. For starters here is what the services charged my credit card and my first return date. I’m not including the special introductory offers and long term bonuses they offer. A couple months of slightly reduced costs and/or special offers to buy used games are just marketing. I want quick turnaround times and the game I want not a substitute I only kinda want. Here we go:
Monthly costs:

Gamerang – $17.95

Gamefly – $19.52

2/22/10:

Game queue on both services and discs from both services were put in the mail:

Mass Effect 2

Dantes Inferno

Darksiders

Assassins Creed 2

Bayonetta

3/2/10:

Gamefly: Received “Mass Effect 2″. The number 1 selection in my queue (first time this has EVER happened).

Gamerang: Received “Darksiders”. The number 3 selection in my queue.

Winner: Gamefly. Both companies took 10 days (?!) to cycle discs but for the first time Gamefly sent me what I wanted the most.

4/5/10:

Game queue on both services and discs from both services were put in the mail:

Final Fantasy 13

Dantes Inferno

Assassins Creed 2

Bayonetta

Borderlands

4/12/10:

Gamefly: Received “Assassins Creed 2″. The number 3 selection in my queue.

Gamerang: Received “Assassins Creed 2″. The number 3 selection in my queue.

Winner: Neither, an exact tie. Both companies took 7 days (3 days faster than last time) and both companies sent my number 3 selection.

6/25/10:

Assassins Creed 2 was taking me a long time to finish and I wanted to try Red Dead Redemption while still playing AC2 so I sent the copy of AC2 I had from Gamerang back and put RDR in my Gamerang queue all by itself. It took Gamerang over two weeks to send me RDR and when I got the mailer it was empty, no game disc. I called Gamerang and they stated they would send out my next game and there would be no charges or penalties. I once again had only RDR in my Gamerang queue. It’s been over a week since I called Gamerang and RDR is still in my queue. Due to my recent dissatisfaction with Gamerang shipping me an empty mailer and taking over a week to send me my current game selection I canceled my account with them.

Final Verdict: Gamefly. It still takes around 10 days to get a new game. I wish that was shorter but Gamerang had shipping errors, sent me games lower down on my queue and had longer turnaround times.
